What is Vectrex?
Vectrex is an 8-bit game console released in 1982. ectrex has a built-in screen based on vector graphics, i.e. the screen image consists of lines drawn from point to point instead of pixel graphics. As you know, Vectrex is the only consumer electronics device for home use that has a vector graphic display. Because of this, Vectrex is a coveted device among enthusiasts. The original Vectrex was developed by John Ross. Vectrex was manufactured by General Consumer Electronics (GCE), which also brought the game console to the market.
28 games were originally created for the Vectrex. All original Vectrex games can be found in the Retro Game House collections. Even today, new games are released for Vectrex by enthusiasts. Games made by hobbyists are called homebrew games. Retro Game House’s collections also include dozens of homebrew games.
The Vectrex game console includes a screen and a separate controller at the end of the cable. Two controllers can be connected to Vextrex at the same time. In addition, for Vectrex there are additional parts, such as a light pen and color transparencies that can be placed on top of the screen. Color films bring colors to games, instead of a black and white screen.
